A Landscape Architect’s Palette
Interesting elements blend together to create a spectacular Outdoor Room
Designing and developing a landscape is a challenging and dynamic art form where understanding artistry goes hand-in-hand with understanding the science behind it.
A landscape architect’s creation is similar to a beautiful painting; instead of viewing it from a distance, you enter into it and stroll casually around to admire all of its various elements. It is a living work of art, always fluid and changing with the seasons; a canvas to eventually be “painted upon” by the homeowners themselves - a painted expression of their own originality.
Looking at the completed landscape “painting”, you see the unified composition. Individual elements, however, determine the style and theme, adding color and interest.
A landscape is not merely trees and flowers. Pieces of architecture, such as walls, stone paving and brick borders both create and divide space, lighting and water features set the mood, artistic pieces add atmosphere, and decorative structures together with furniture, complete the picture.
